CalTech Proposal

CalTech Proposal

Web Design

This website design was part of a school project while at Sacramento State. The assignment was to find an existing site that could use some design improvements. I chose CalTech's website and redesigned it from the ground up while incorporating their existing information and pictures.

Re-design Final Pages

My idea was to create a site that had a consistent look and feel on each internal page while adhering to a set grid and navigational system. The home page presents you with the main navigational elements that appear in the main menu bar on the interior pages. Because the site focuses on viewing constellations, I choose to base my design on the idea of looking through a telescope.

The site was coded in Dreamweaver but uses slices that were created in Photoshop. Seeing as it was my first website project and a school project, the only knowledge of website creation I had was slicing up an image and creating image-map links.

Process Book

This book details all the stages of the design process. From research to concepts to final designs. Several user experience tests were conducted on the original website to determine the necessary changes.
